I cleaned out the garage this morning after I got bored editing my research paper. Editing out a thousand words isn't easy. There are only so many "is going to"s that you can change to "will"s. That's 66% more precise however.
I didn't have anything other than coffe all day and while I had a glut of energy before noon, after I cleaned the garage I was pretty wiped and chastised myself for wasting all my workout energy on cleaning the garage. I read a little bit for a while and then figured I'd go through my warm-up routine and see how I felt. My body felt a little tired but I wasn't sleepy like I normally get in the afternoon.
I went through my warm-up routine and felt a little beter and figured I'd give it a go. Level 7 Day 1 of Simplefit is max rounds of 4 pull-ups, 8 push-ups and 12 sqauts in 20 minutes. I did 17 today doing all the push-ups on rings. The push-ups on rings was the limiting factor here. As you progress through the rounds, your stabilizer muscles get tired first and the rings become much harder.
I then did 2 sets of 25 reps of clean and presses with the kettlebell for each arm. That's 50 per side. Then I grabbed the sandbag (80 lbs) and did 5 sets of 10 thrusters. Hanging leg raises, floor wipers, and side bends with the kettlebells finished off the core work. I included a post-workout protein shake. During the workout I got another burst of energy that made me feel as jacked up as I was this morning and made cleaning the garage sound like a fun way to pass the time.
Here's a photo of my homemade rings. I have adjustable straps now instead of ropes that make things a lot easier. The straps I got at the hardware store. Maybe $15 total to make these and that's only if you screw up the first step like I did.
